I’ve been waiting a while to take this picture (rather a picture like it) for about three years now. That’s how long it’s taken me to get back to Abingdon, VA.
Recently, I had an assignment to take pictures for the Images Washington County, VA, magazine and lucked upon this scene again. It’s from the playground at Veterans Memorial Park on the outskirts of town.
Last time, I was just a few milliseconds late to get a picture like this. Right next to this slide is a swing set and it lines up perfectly with the afternoon sun. There was a couple swinging and enjoying a warm sunny afternoon. It’s a picture I still want to capture. I just hope it doesn’t take three more years.
